Bulletin #1, February 2005
Editorial
Welcome to 2005. This year offers most interesting events on Artificial Intelligence in Europe. First, you have a chance to improve your knowledge on Advanced Knowledge Technologies (including Knowledge Discovery) at ECCAI's summer school (called ACAI-2005). The courses will given in one of the most charming new capitals of the new EU member countries, namely Ljubljana (Slovenia). A Doctoral Consortium will be part of ACAI-2005. It will give young scientists a forum for presenting and discussing their ideas. The ECCAI Travel Award Scheme will support participation in ACAI-2005.
Lateron, beginning of August, Edinburgh should be on your travel plan. This year's IJCAI is located in Europe, more exactly in Scotland. Go for it.
Best wishes for a successful year of AI research and applications.
Werner Horn, ECCAI chair
ACAI 2005 will focus on Advanced Knowledge Technologies : data
mining and semantic web. It will take place in Ljubljana,

ECCAI Travel Award :
An ECCAI Travel Award Scheme has been established to
support students, young researchers and faculty who are members of an
ECCAI affiliated society participating in ECAI or ACAI. The awards,
valued at 400 Euros each, are for reimbursement of travel and part
payment of registration fees. This year the ECCAI Travel Award Scheme
supports
participation to ACAI. For application and information, see http://www.eccai.org/travelaw.shtml
